Responsible Use

Article 1: Definitions.

1.1 Data traffic: All data sent and received over the Internet through the hosting package. This includes uploads, downloads, and all incoming and outgoing connections (including email and database queries). 1.2 Storage space: The total amount of data the Customer can store on the allocated hosting infrastructure.

Article 2: Data traffic and Fair Use.

All of Digi Hosting's paid hosting packages include a generous amount of data traffic per month. Although some packages are advertised as "unlimited," these are intended for normal, reasonable use For a standard web hosting environment (Fair Use). Digi Hosting monitors systems 24/7 to prevent overloads and ensure stability for all users.

2.1 Violation of Fair Use: Data traffic is expressly not intended for:

  • Hosting independent streaming services (video or audio).

  • Use as an external backup or archive platform for files without a direct link to the hosted website.

  • Hosting large public download or file-sharing services.

2.2 Intervention: If we determine that a Customer's data traffic deviates structurally and significantly from average usage patterns (e.g., more than 50x the average of similar users), compromising network performance, we will contact the Customer to:

  • Propose an upgrade to a suitable package (e.g. VPS or Dedicated Hosting).

  • In case of refusal or non-cooperation: temporarily block the service or terminate the Agreement in accordance with Article 6 of the General Conditions.

Article 3: Storage space and Purpose limitation

The storage space is intended for website-related storage only, such as website files, databases and e-mail.

3.1 Exclusion from Archiving: The included storage space may not be used to store and/or host large amounts of personal data, movies, external backups or other material that has no direct function in the operation of the hosted website.

3.2 Suspension for Limit Violations: If the allocated storage limit is exceeded, the hosting package is automatically suspended. The Customer will receive automatic notifications of this. The Customer can upgrade the package immediately or contact Digi Hosting for reactivation after removal of data.

3.3 Consequences of Abuse Storage: If misuse of storage space is detected (non-website-related archiving), the Customer will be advised. If the Customer does not follow this advice, Digi Hosting reserves the right to block access to the services in accordance with Article 6 of the General Conditions.

Article 4: Free Web Hosting Packages

Digi Hosting offers free web hosting packages as an introductory service for non-commercial websites.

4.1 Acceptance and Verification: Requests are checked manually. Digi Hosting reserves the right to refuse orders at its discretion. Checks are made for domain registration, IP address and physical location. Use of VPN connections when ordering will result in automatic marking as fraud.

4.2 Abuse and Suspension: In case of abuse, the package will be suspended immediately and without warning. Abuse includes, but is not limited to: hosting illegal material, phishing or sending spam.

4.3 Inactivity: If a free package has not been actively used for 6 months, Digi Hosting may suspend and eventually delete the package after prior warning by email.

4.4 Limitation: A maximum of one (1) free web hosting package will be allowed per Customer. Verification will be made on email address, IP address and personal data.
