Create a cron job (scheduled task)

Updated on 4 November 20261 min read

With a cron job you have a script run automatically at set times, e.g. every night.

Here's how

  1. Go to Advanced Features → Cronjobs.
  2. Enter the time: minute, hour, day, month and weekday. * means "every". Example: 0 3 * * * = every day at 3 a.m.
  3. Under Command, enter the command, e.g. /usr/local/bin/php /home/user/domains/yourdomain.be/public_html/cron.php
  4. Click Create.

Don't run a cron job more often than needed: every minute is rarely really necessary and uses a lot of power.

For WordPress: set DISABLE_WP_CRON to true in wp-config.php and run wp-cron.php every 15 minutes via a cron job.
