Create a database in DirectAdmin

Updated on 4 November 20261 min read

Most websites (WordPress, web shops) store their content in a MySQL/MariaDB database.

Here's how

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin: open your plan in your client area and click Open DirectAdmin. You're signed in right away.
  2. Go to Account Manager → MySQL Management.
  3. Click Create new database at the top right.
  4. Enter a name and a password (or click the dice) and click Create database.
  5. Note down the database name, user and password: you need them in your website's settings. The server is localhost.

Faster without DirectAdmin: in DigiPanel you do this under Website → Databases.
