Set up a catch-all: mail to non-existent addresses

Updated on 4 November 20261 min read

Decide what happens to mail sent to an address on your domain that doesn't exist.

Here's how

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin: open your plan in your client area and click Open DirectAdmin. You're signed in right away.
  2. Go to Email Manager → Catch-All Email.
  3. Choose one of the three options: bounce with an error message (recommended), silently discard, or forward to an existing address.
  4. Click Save.

Forwarding to an existing address often brings in a lot of spam. Bouncing is usually the best choice.
