Digi Hosting renews domain name registration not automatically, unless the Customer has explicitly set this up through the control panel. The Customer is solely responsible for the timely renewal of a domain name registration.
To prevent inadvertent expiration of a domain name, Digi Hosting sends a series of five (5) email reminders to the domain name holder's e-mail address known to us. These notifications are sent:
27 days before the due date
14 days before the due date
7 days before the due date
3 days before the due date
1 day before the due date
Each reminder contains clear information about the due date, the action to be taken and the possibility of renewal. With these reminders, the Customer will also receive a Pro Forma Invoice. If this invoice is not paid on time, the invoice will automatically expire and the domain name will not be renewed.
If a domain name is not renewed before the expiration date, Digi Hosting will take the following steps:
Mandatory Due Date Notification: Digi Hosting sends in five (5) days after the expiration date, a mandatory notification confirming that the domain has expired and is no longer functional (in accordance with ICANN rules for gTLDs).
Suspension: The domain name will be removed from the DNS. This means that the website and email will no longer function.
For generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) and certain ccTLDs (such as .uk / .co.uk / .me.uk / .org.uk), in most cases a Recovery period (RGP). of up to 30 days.
During this period:
Does the domain remain in RGP status with the registrar.
Can't the domain be moved to another registrar.
Can the domain be reinstated at the Customer's request through Digi Hosting.
Notification Recovery Period: Upon the commencement of the Recovery Period, the Customer will be notified via email.
Repair costs: For restoring an expired domain in this RGP period are administration and repair costs charged in addition to the regular renewal fee. Please contact us at support@digi.hosting for the exact cost.
Language of Notifications: All reminders and notifications are sent by default in the language of the original domain registration agreement.
Divergent Renewal Terms: For certain domain name extensions (such as .nl and .be), different expiry procedures, deadlines and fees may apply, depending on the registry conditions. Customers are expected to inform themselves well in advance about the specific rules that apply to the domains they register.
These terms and conditions are subject to printing errors.
