Automatic renewal

Digi Hosting renews domain name registration not automatically, unless the customer has explicitly set this up through the control panel. The customer is responsible for renewing a domain name registration in a timely manner.

Decay memories

To prevent inadvertent expiration of a domain name, Digi Hosting sends a series of five e-mail reminders to the domain name holder's e-mail address known to us. These notifications are sent:

• 27 days before the due date

• 14 days before the due date

• 7 days before the due date

• 3 days before the due date

• 1 day before the due date

Each reminder contains clear information about the expiration date of the domain, the action to be taken and the possibility of renewal through Digi Hosting's control panel. With these reminders, the customer will also receive a Pro Forma invoice. If this invoice is not paid on time, the invoice will automatically expire and the domain name will not be renewed.

After the domain name expires

If a domain name is not renewed before the expiration date, Digi Hosting will no additional notification send after the domain expires. However, depending on the domain extension and registrar conditions, the customer can still recover the domain for a certain period of time, possibly at an additional cost.

Recovery (Redemption Grace Period)

For generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) and extensions such as .uk / .co.uk / .me.uk / .org.uk, a so-called Redemption Grace Period of up to 30 days. During this period:

• Is the domain not active in DNS (the website and e-mail do not function).

• Can't the domain be moved to another registrar.

• Can the customer have the domain restored through Digi Hosting upon request.

Language and content of notifications

All reminders and notifications are sent by default in the language of the original domain registration agreement. The content of the notifications is clear, concise and contains all necessary information related to domain name renewal.

Divergent renewal terms

Different expiration procedures may apply to certain domain name extensions, depending on registry conditions. Digi Hosting advises customers to inform themselves well in advance about the specific rules that apply to their registered domains.
