SPF, DKIM and DMARC: what are they and do I need them?

Table Of Contents

These three DNS records keep your mail out of spam and stop anyone from simply sending mail in your name.

Here's how #

  1. SPF: a list of servers allowed to send mail on behalf of your domain.
  2. DKIM: a digital signature on your outgoing mail.
  3. DMARC: tells other servers what to do with mail that doesn't check out, and can send you reports.
  4. With web hosting we set up SPF and DKIM automatically. You add DMARC via Quick setup → DMARC.

In DigiPanel you see under Check whether SPF and DMARC are in order.
