After the expiry date your website and email on that domain name stop working. For most extensions you can still get it back for a while.

Here's how #

1. Check in your client area under Domain names whether there's an open renewal invoice, and pay it.
2. Once the normal renewal period has passed, the domain name enters a redemption period (quarantine). You can still get it back then, sometimes at an extra cost.
3. Open a ticket if you're unsure: we'll check right away what's still possible.

After the redemption period the name becomes available and anyone can register it. So don't wait too long.
